Mitie is offering a behind the scenes look at the workplaces and facilities of some of Britain’s biggest brands with the launch of its new podcast series, ‘The Science of Service Podcast: Facilities Transformation’. Hosted by workplace and facilities management (FM) commentators, Ian Ellison and Chris Moriarty, the series tells the story of an industry that has often gone unnoticed, as it embarks on a transformation to adapt to customer demands and new ways of working, creating the workplaces of the future.
Over the six episodes, hosts, Ian and Chris, who also host The Workplace Geeks podcast, explore how innovative technology is at the centre of Facilities Transformation. In the first episode, they join Mitie’s CEO, Phil Bentley, at its headquarters in The Shard to discuss the journey Mitie has been on, investing in technology and data-led decision-making to support its customers. In subsequent episodes, which will be released fortnightly, the hosts visit major workplaces and critical infrastructure around the country to spotlight the cutting-edge technology that is helping to create commute-worthy spaces, tackle climate change, provide hygienic spaces and respond to increasing security threats.
Across the series, listeners will hear from iconic British brands, as well as industry experts. This includes Professor Alison Wakefield, a researcher of retail security and policing, named one of the top 30 women in cyber security; Leigh Fyffe, who has helped to deliver forward-thinking spaces across Royal London’s estate, including its new state-of-the-art headquarters at 80 Fenchurch Street; and Matt Rogers, Head of UK Security for Eurostar, with over 25 years’ experience in the industry.
Cijo Joseph, Chief Technology and Information Officer, Mitie said:
“What customers want and need from their facilities is changing. They are creating great places to work that are more secure, more hygienic and that support their net-zero ambitions. Innovation is at the centre of being able to support this evolution, so we’re excited to be working with the Workplace Geeks to share a unique look at what delivering facilities transformation really means.”
Chris Moriarty, Host, Workplace Geeks said:
“Going behind the curtains of the UK’s biggest facilities management business has been an eye-opening experience. We hear so much about technology these days, but it’s one thing to talk about it, and another to hear customers’ stories first-hand and see in action how, when combined with human expertise, technology is transforming lives.”
The first episode is live now, with the following episodes to be available to listen at j6g0.airllevant.com/podcasts or on all major podcast platforms including Spotify and Apple podcasts.
